Ashley Marler

An inmate who escaped from a medical transport on Monday is back in custody, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Urban County Government's Department of Public Safety.

Ashley Marler, 31, was arrested by Lexington police and was returned to the custody of the Fayette County jail at 3 p.m. Thursday.

She is being held on her original charges, two counts of receiving stolen property, plus nonpayment of fines, failure to appear in court, a probation violation and second-degree escape.

It was Marler's second escape. The first happened Sept. 16, when she failed to return from a court-ordered medical pass. She was caught two days later.
