Woodford County: Corn Maze Train set for October; Francisco's Festival to return to Midway College

October 1, 2013

The Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and the Life Adventure Center in Versailles are offering customers a new weekend event, the Corn Maze Train.

Every weekend in October passengers can purchase a discounted combined ticket that will allow them to ride a special 12:30 p.m. train to the newly constructed Life Adventure Station and disembark for a two-hour tour of the corn maze and the LAC's other attractions. Passengers then catch the 3:20 p.m. train back to their cars at the county park.

Discounted tickets are $18 for adults (a $22.50 value) and $11 for kids (a $14.50 value).

Farm Art Festival returns

Francisco's Farm Art Festival will return to the campus of Midway College in 2014. The festival began in 2003 and was held on the Midway College campus grounds until 2010. For the past three years the festival has been hosted by Equus Run Vineyards at its winery off Moores Mill Road.

"The College is enthusiastic about welcoming the festival back to our campus," said John Marsden, president of Midway College.

Organizers say the festival dates will move to mid-May from its most recent schedule of mid-June, hopefully avoiding some of the extreme temperatures that have been a factor the last few years. The dates for the 2014 festival are May 17-18.
