Police said Thursday that a 59-year-old homicide victim in Clay County died of a gunshot wound.

Clay County Coroner Danny Finley said the body of Carl "Duke" House of Manchester was discovered shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday at his home on Ben House Road near the Clay County-Laurel County border, Finley said.

The victim's body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy later in the day, the news release said.

Finley said House was a retired logger.
