Lexington's most expensive martini has quite a sparkle.

Shelia Bayes, owner of Shelia Bayes Fine Jewelers, and restaurateur Debbie Long, owner of Dudley's on Short, are teaming up to offer a martini with a price tag of — drum roll, please — $1,500.

During October, when you order the custom-crafted martini at Dudley's, you'll receive a 0.5-karat diamond necklace.

You also will be helping a local charity, Horses and Hope. A portion of the proceeds goes to the organization, which works to help prevent and treat breast cancer among Kentucky horse industry workers and their families.

Dudley's on Short is at 259 West Short Street; call (859) 252-1010 or go to Dudleysrestaurant.com. Shelia Bayes Fine Jewelers is at 410 West Vine Street; call (859) 225-4043 or go to Sheliabayes.com.

Special events

West Sixth Brewing is holding its second annual Oktoberfest celebration, 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. As part of the "Sixth for a Cause" series, 6 percent of proceeds from the event will go to FoodChain, a non-profit indoor urban farm that is raising tilapia in tanks and growing leafy greens.

West Sixth will introduce its new pumpkin ale, a single-batch beer made with 80 pounds of local pumpkins grown by farmer Ben Abell and cooked by the staff at Smithtown Seafood. It's a cross between a brown ale and a porter, flavored with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and allspice, the brewery says.

FoodChain will be selling Oktoberfest beer steins as a fundraiser and offering tours. Go to On.fb.me/1c1A9Qb.

■ Lexington's newest craft brewery, Blue Stallion Brewing, is celebrating Oktoberfest through Sunday. The company's focus is on German-style lagers. It's at 610 West Third Street, at Newtown Pike. Call 1-877-928-2337 or go to Bluestallionbrewing.com.
