Lexington's most expensive martini has quite a sparkle.
Shelia Bayes, owner of Shelia Bayes Fine Jewelers, and restaurateur Debbie Long, owner of Dudley's on Short, are teaming up to offer a martini with a price tag of — drum roll, please — $1,500.
During October, when you order the custom-crafted martini at Dudley's, you'll receive a 0.5-karat diamond necklace.
You also will be helping a local charity, Horses and Hope. A portion of the proceeds goes to the organization, which works to help prevent and treat breast cancer among Kentucky horse industry workers and their families.

■ West Sixth Brewing is holding its second annual Oktoberfest celebration, 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. As part of the "Sixth for a Cause" series, 6 percent of proceeds from the event will go to FoodChain, a non-profit indoor urban farm that is raising tilapia in tanks and growing leafy greens.
West Sixth will introduce its new pumpkin ale, a single-batch beer made with 80 pounds of local pumpkins grown by farmer Ben Abell and cooked by the staff at Smithtown Seafood. It's a cross between a brown ale and a porter, flavored with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and allspice, the brewery says.

■ Willisburg Bakery and Deli, 89 Chaplin Road in Willisburg, is having its third customer appreciation day Wednesday.
