City games

No. 20 Henry Clay (5-0) at Madison Central (1-5): Elijah Bell ran for 247 yards in Henry Clay's win over Lafayette, the third time he's topped 200 this season. Madison Central has given up almost 300 yards rushing a game, and has yielded more points (44 per game) than any team in Class 6A.

Lafayette (1-5) at No. 15 Bryan Station (2-2): The Generals face their fourth top-20 team this year. They've lost to No. 3 Scott County, No. 5 Lexington Catholic and No. 20 Henry Clay. Bryan Station is retiring Dermontti Dawson's jersey in a ceremony before the game.

No. 5 Lexington Catholic (4-2) at No. 9 Boyle County (6-0): The Knights have beaten Boyle County in the regular season and playoffs the last two years. The Rebels hold an 11-9 series edge since 1997.

Tates Creek (4-2) at No. 21 Dixie Heights (4-1): R.J. Taylor had 123 yards receiving and 55 yards returning kicks last week. The last time the Commodores played Dixie Heights was in 2000 and they beat the Colonels 21-14.

Top state games

Trinity (2-3) vs. No. 4 St. Xavier (4-2) at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, 8 p.m.: Trinity has swept the Tigers in the regular season and playoffs the last three years to take a 37-36-2 lead in the series.

Corbin (5-0) at Wayne County (6-0): Wayne County beat the Redhounds last year for only the second time in 26 tries.

North Laurel (5-0) at Pulaski County (6-0): Both teams still have to contend with another unbeaten 5A district rival in Madison Southern (5-0).
