Keeneland jockeys join in sendoff of popular longtime bugler

October 4, 2013

The 50-year tenure of Keeneland bugler Bucky Sallee was celebrated Friday on the opening day of the Fall Meet. Jockeys honored Sallee, now bugler emeritus, by donning his signature style of hat. New bugler Steve Buttleman was welcomed as he played his first notes at the day of racing in Lexington. Sallee's wife, Barbara, also was on hand for the festivities.
