Gillespie, Grimes roll 300s on same day

Special to the Herald-LeaderOctober 6, 2013

Add Corey Gillespie and Eric Grimes to the list of players to roll perfect games this season. Both came on Sept. 30 in the James R Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland.

Gillespie paced a 770 series with his 300. Grimes' perfect game highlighted his 722 series.

Jim Gahn just missed out on joining Gillespie and Grimes. He rolled a 299 at Southland.

The pair of perfect games brings the season total for the Greater Lexington USBC to four. And there has only been one 800 series so far.

That puts local keglers well behind the pace they set in the 2012-13 season when they finished with 29 series of 800 or better and 52 perfect games.
