Friday's kickoffs

City games

Clark County (1-5) at Lafayette (1-6): Both teams have faced killer schedules, including two common opponents. Scott County beat Clark County 51-13, and Lafayette 56-22. Henry Clay beat Clark County 50-0, and Lafayette 34-23.

Lexington Christian (1-5) at Middlesboro (5-1): After an open date, LCA tackles Class 2A district foes Middlesboro, Somerset and Danville the next three weeks.

Madison Central (1-6) at Tates Creek (4-3): After losing three of its last four games, Tates Creek looks to regain momentum as it faces district foes Madison Central, Clark County, Lafayette to close the regular season.

No. 3 Scott County (6-0) at No. 21 Henry Clay (6-0): Scott County has a 15-game winning streak against Lexington competition, including lopsided victories over Henry Clay last year in the regular season (69-34) and playoffs (70-7).

Taylor County (3-3) at No. 9 Lexington Catholic (4-3): The Knights' mission is to improve each week before a rematch with Boyle County in the third round of 4A playoffs.

Top state games

No. 6 Male (6-0) at No. 4 St. Xavier (4-3): Is Male the surprise power in 6A? Bulldogs can show it by ending a six-year, seven-game losing streak to St. X.

Pulaski County (7-0) at Madison Southern (6-0): This should be a high-scoring shootout featuring Pulaski County QB Riley Hall (1,980 yards, 22 TDs passing and rushing), and Madison Southern RB Damien Harris (1,340 yards, 22 TDs rushing).
