High school soccer: LCA faces off vs. Lafayette in 43rd District openers

The high school soccer post-season gets underway Monday with district tournament play.

In Lexington, both boys' and girls' 43rd District tournaments will pit Lafayette against Lexington Christian at 7 p.m. The boys will play at Lexington Catholic, the girls at Paul Laurence Dunbar.

The rest of the boys' 43rd schedule has Monday's winner against top-ranked Dunbar, Tuesday at 6 p.m., followed by No. 8 Tates Creek against No. 20 Catholic. Finals are set for Thursday at 7 p.m.

The girls' 43rd continues Tuesday with No. 9 Catholic meeting Dunbar at 6 p.m., followed by defending state champion and No. 2-ranked Tates Creek against Lafayette or No. 21 LCA. Finals are scheduled Thursday at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, 42nd District play at Henry Clay will begin Tuesday at 6 with Henry Clay's boys taking on Sayre, followed by Scott County against Bryan Station.

The girls' 42nd, also at Henry Clay, will have No. 24 Henry Clay facing Sayre, Wednesday at 6 p.m., followed by No. 3 Scott County versus Bryan Station.

The 42nd finals will be played Thursday, with boys at 6 p.m. and girls at 8.
