Laurel County authorities were searching Sunday night for a 20-year-old man who went hunting Friday evening and has not been seen since.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Department, Zachary Frank, 20, left the home he shares with his father on Miller Road about 6 p.m. Friday, planning to go hunting in the Cane Creek area about a mile away.

Frank was on foot and carrying a .22 caliber rifle, deputies said.

Frank's father reported him missing Sunday afternoon.

"The father advised that this was very uncharacteristic of his son and he believes something is wrong," the sheriff's department said in a news release.

Searchers from Laurel County Emergency Management, Laurel County Public Safety and the London-Laurel Rescue Squad were combing the area Sunday night, the sheriff's department said.

Anyone with information about Zachary Frank's whereabouts is asked to contact the Laurel Sheriff's Department at (606) 864-6600 or (606) 878-7000.
