The outer loop of East New Circle between Golden Way and Old Paris Pike was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Rodriguez-Pena did not appear to have been in a crosswalk when he was hit, police said. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The coroner's office is looking for family or friends to claim the body of Rodriguez-Pena. His last known address was the Hope Center at 360 West Louden Avenue in Lexington.
