Two people died early Sunday in a fire in Pike County, authorities said.

The fire occurred in a mobile home at Lick Creek, near Elkhorn City, according to Deputy Coroner Denver Bailey.

A man and a woman died. The coroner's office had not released their names Sunday night.

The two were pronounced dead about 7 a.m., Bailey said.

Autopsies were scheduled to be performed on the bodies Monday to confirm the cause of death.

State police were investigating but had not released details about the fire, including the suspected cause, by late Sunday.
