Car catches fire Monday on I-75 near Lexington

The occupants of this car escaped unhurt after it caught fire Monday morning on Interstate 75 near Lexington.

Firefighters were trying to determine what caused a car fire Monday morning on Interstate 75 near Lexington. It happened just after 9 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Newtown Pike. Lexington fire department spokesman Joe Best said the four-door sedan was engulfed in flames when crews arrived. The occupants got out of the car unscathed, he said.
