Funeral arrangements have been set for a Whitley City firefighter who died after being severely injured in late August when he went into a burning home.

Lt. Arlie "Pooh" Hill III, 37, of Stearns, died Sunday in Cincinnati.

Hill and Lt. Adam Stephens, both with the Whitley City Fire Department, saw a fire at a home on Water Plant Road in their neighborhood on Aug. 30 and went inside to see whether anyone was there.

Hill became trapped and suffered burns over 90 percent of his body before being pulled from the building by Stephens.

He is survived by his wife, Sharen Hill, and mother, Ruth Hill.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCreary Central High School. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the school.
