A man turned himself in to University of Kentucky police early Tuesday morning after leading them on a car chase, UK spokesman Jay Blanton said.

Ra'sheen Culpepper was arrestedon several charges including fleeing and leaving police after crashing into a light pole and then fleeing. Culpepper's passengers, O'shea George and Thomas Brown, were arrested on charges of receiving stolen property, Blanton said. He said he thinks all three men are 18.

The chase began about 1 a.m., when police spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The officers tried to make a traffic stop on Rose Street, but the car took off. The chase ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a light pole on Columbia and Woodland avenues, Blanton said.

That intersection was expected to be closed until late Tuesday afternoon as crews repair the light pole, Blanton said. There could be some power outages, he said.
