A Kentucky state trooper suffered minor injuries Thursday night when she wrecked her cruiser while trying to avoid another vehicle in Hardin County.

The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. Thursday, according to the Elizabethtown KSP post.

A news release said Trooper Shannan White, 34, was on duty and driving north on New Glendale Road when a southbound vehicle crossed the center line into her lane.

White steered right to avoid a collision, police said, but her cruiser dropped off the right shoulder of the highway.

White's car then traveled down an embankment and struck a utility pole, state police said.

White was taken to the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown with minor injuries and was admitted for observation, troopers said.

The other vehicle involved has not been identified, police said. An investigation is continuing.
