Lexington’s Lunafest will screen short films by, for and about women at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Kentucky Theatre, 214 East Main Street. The evening will include a community fair, drawings, and screenings of local films and national selections An encore screening and discussion will be 1:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Transylvania University’s William T. Stand-up comedian will do five shows over three days

Tommy Davidson, a star of TV’s In Living Color, and Ace Ven tura II: When Nature Calls, Bamboozled and other films, brings his stand-up act to Comedy Off Broadway at The Mall at Lexington Green. Performances are at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, and 7:15 and 9:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $15 to $23. (859) 271-5653.  Comedyoffbroadway.com  .

Lace up those skates; downtown ice rink set to reopen

Bring on the wintery ice, at least a man-made chunk of it. The Unified Trust Co. Ice Rink opens Friday at Triangle Park at West Main Street and South Broadway. For $10 you get skates and 90 minutes on the ice. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday (10 a.m. to 10 p.m. during Fayette County school breaks), 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday. The rink will be open through Jan. 5.
