A man and a woman face drug charges after they were found sleeping on railroad tracks in Laurel County.

Lucas D. Nantz, 28, and Christina B. Cawood, 40, both of the Pittsburg community in Laurel County, are charged with public intoxication from controlled substances and second-degree criminal trespass, the Laurel County Sheriff's Department said.

Nantz also is charged with trafficking in prescription drugs, deputies said.

According to the sheriff's department, Cawood and Nantz were found asleep on the CSX railroad tracks about 4:50 p.m. Monday, off Ky. 490 about five miles north of London.

Nantz was lying on a rail; Cawood was sleeping between two rails, deputies said.

After awakening the two, deputies determined that they were under the influence of drugs and arrested them, the sheriff's department said.

Deputies said they recovered a large quantity of pills.
