State police have arrested a West Liberty man who they say is responsible for hitting and killing two pedestrians in Morgan County on Saturday night.

Tony Kegley Jr., 30, was charged Tuesday with two counts of second-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with evidence in the deaths of Elizabeth Thornsberry, 41, of Ezel and Tony Ross, 48, of Clearfield.

On Monday, state police had asked for help in locating the pickup involved in the wreck.

State police said they received an anonymous tip via Facebook on Monday saying Kegley might be involved.

They executed a search warrant at his home and arrested him, according to a news release. He was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Thornsberry and Ross had been at Jasper's Bar in Maytown on Saturday night. Ross left on foot and was followed by Thornsberry in her 2001 Pontiac Bonneville traveling east toward Ezel.

State police have said they think Thornsberry stopped and got out to speak with Ross. They were standing in the westbound lane when they were struck.
