friday's kickoffs

City playoff games

Bryan Station (4-5) at Lafayette (3-7): When these teams met Oct. 4, Lafayette took a 14-0 lead, but Bryan Station reeled off six TDs in a row on its way to a 53-21 victory. Bo Johnson had 418 yards and five TDs passing and running for the Defenders. Malik Robinson rushed for 115 yards and a TD for Lafayette. The winner of this rematch probably gets No. 1 Scott County next week. The unbeaten Cards play Clark County on Friday.

Lexington Christian (1-9) at Prestonsburg (5-5): LCA's offense has been sputtering. The Eagles have had one TD (or less) in five of their last six games. LCA limited Walton-Verona to 234 yards last week, but managed only 168 yards itself in a 23-7 loss.

Madison Central (2-8) at Henry Clay (7-2): Henry Clay had more than 500 yards when it beat Madison Central 41-21 on Oct. 4. D.J. Jackson and Elijah Bell each rushed for more than 130 yards to lead the assault. Madison Central's Zach Hardin threw for 161 yards and two TDs. The winner of this game faces either Dunbar or Tates Creek next week.

Paul Laurence Dunbar (5-5) at Tates Creek (6-4): The Commodores held on to beat Dunbar 22-21 in the season opener. The Bulldogs failed on a two-point conversion try with 52 seconds left. Tates Creek QB Graham Gordon completed 15 of 18 passes for 157 yards and two TDs. Dunbar's A.J. Williams had 151 yards and two TDs rushing and receiving. The Bulldogs have lost six times in a row to Tates Creek. The winner plays Henry Clay or Madison Central next week.

Rockcastle County (2-8) at Lexington Catholic (7-3): The Knights beat Rockcastle County 48-0 in the first round of 4A playoffs last year. LexCath's Reese Ryan's career passing totals: 4,049 yards, 42 TDs. David Bouvier's school-record receiving totals: 193 catches, 2,843 yards.
