A man was shot at the intersection of Georgetown Road and Iron Works Pike Saturday afternoon, Lexington police said.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Lt. Sam Murdock.

Police got the call about 4 p.m.

Murdock said he wasn't sure what caused the shooting, but the incident may have been related to a two-vehicle fender bender.

The investigation will continue.

WKYT interviewed the sister of one of the drivers, a woman. The sister said a small collision led to a fight between the women's father and a passenger in a car. The father was shot in the leg.

Sean Edwards Sampson, 30, was charged with 2nd degree assault, WKYT reported.
