A Lexington man was charged with second-degree manslaughter Saturday morning in connection with an infant's death, according to Fayette County District Court documents.

William Curtis McKenzie, 30, admitted to wrapping a blanket around "his infant child's face" making it hard for the child to breathe, documents said. The child died of suffocation.

Documents said the mother of the child warned McKenzie before about putting the blanket over the child's face. The age and sex of the child weren't provided,

McKenzie was charged after Lexington police arrested him at 1444 Huntsville Drive, documents said.

He is being held in Fayette County Detention Center on $7,500 bond. McKenzie will be arraigned on Tuesday.
