Personnel File local hires and promotions: Week of Nov. 11

Education

Hindman Settlement School: The following have been appointed to the board of directors: Sally N. Bueno, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution schools chair, Springfield, Mo.; John P. Ernst, executive assistant to the president at Morehead State University; Silas House, Kentucky author and NEH Chair in Appalachian Studies at Berea College; Raymond W. McLain, director of the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music at MSU; and Barbara G. Zink, Kentucky State DAR regent, from Springfield. Also joining the advisory board is Mary Lynne Keener, regent of the Joseph Habersham Chapter of the DAR in Atlanta. Sherry W. Powers, dean of the School of Education at Asbury University, has been elected to a three-year term as board chair.

Finance

Blue & Co.: Kristin G. Conway and Joseph C. Duruttya have joined the regional public accounting firm as staff accountants. Nathaniel R. Murray has been named a senior accountant with the firm.

Community Trust Bank: Helen M. Powell has been promoted to branch operations supervisor in Danville/ Harrodsburg market.

Health care

Julie Marfell has been named dean of nursing at Frontier Nursing University. She succeeds Susan Stone, who served as president and dean for 12 years.

Law

Fowler Bell: Matthew D. Ellison has become a member of the firm. Ellison joined Fowler Bell's litigation, bankruptcy and creditor's rights groups in 2005.

Organizations

Bluegrass Community and Technical College Foundation: The following have been appointed board members and officers for fiscal year 2013-2014: J. Mel Camenisch Jr., chair; Kimberly Marshall, vice chair; Carlean Hefner, secretary/treasurer; Alonzo Allen; Larry Cowgill; Lois Ann Disponett; Annissa Franklin; Michael Hockensmith; Jim Jacobus; Dr. Augusta Julian; Kimberly Marshall; Tom Masterson; Jimmy Nash; Doug Oliver; Steve Reinhart; Gayle Smith; Alan Stein; Martha Tarrant; Alan Turbyfill, and Richard Wehrle.

Kentucky Board of Housing, Buildings and Construction: Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed David Dean, president and general contractor at Dean Builds, to the board through July 31, 2017. Dean, who lives in Winchester, represents the Associated General Contractors of Kentucky.

Other

Clark Material Handling Co.: Farrukh Ghani has been named chief financial officer for the company's North America operations. Since joining Clark in 2000, Ghani has held several managerial roles in the finance and information technology departments of Clark, including most recently vice president, finance and technology. Ghani is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and is a certified public accountant.

Wazoo Sports: Matt Cacciato has been named president and CEO of the London-based sports production company. He previously served in senior sales positions at ESPN, Disney, the Yankees Sports Network, Turner Media Group and Fox Cable Networks. He is also founder and president of American Education Television Network, a cable network that delivers news, information and entertainment programming from the education industry.
