McClintock, Sturgill awarded rank of Eagle Scout

Declan McClintock, 17, has been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank a Boy Scout can earn. Declan's Court of Honor was Sept. 22.

He is a member of Troop 1784, sponsored by Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Woodford County. He is a senior at Woodford County High School and is the son of Kathy and Tim McClintock of Versailles.

For his Eagle service project, Declan built a fire pit for his church, Versailles United Methodist. Declan has also been named a Kentucky Colonel.

Connor Maxwell Sturgill, 15, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on Oct. 1.

Connor is a member of Troop 110, sponsored by South Elkhorn Christian Church in Lexington. He is the son of Beth and Michael Sturgill of Lexington.

For his Eagle service project, Connor built and installed two bookshelves in the family waiting room of the Hospice Care Unit at St. Joseph Hospital. The bookshelves were dedicated in memory of his grandmother and uncle.
