Jessamine County: Julius Caesar this weekend at Asbury; singers needed for community choir

November 12, 2013

Asbury University will present Shakespeare's Julius Caesar in the Greathouse Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. The play is being produced in the round and will take advantage of the Greathouse Theatre's sound system to produce realistic gunshot and explosion sound effects, in an effort to create a more accurate portrayal of war. Due to the high action and loud explosions, the play is intended for audience members 13 and older. In order to make the conflict more relevant to a modern audience, the setting of the play is updated, but the language is unchanged. The drama will also be performed the following weekend, Nov. 21-23. Tickets are $7 and can be reserved by email at or by phone at (859) 858-3511, Ext. 3207.

Other rehearsal dates are 5 p.m. on Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. Interested singers should email Jessica Greene at jessica.greene@jessamine.kyschools.
