Two Fayette County jail inmates treated after separate falls in their cells

Two Fayette County jail inmates were sent to hospitals hospital after falling this week in separate accidents, according to a news release from the jail.

On Tuesday, Brian Shawn Kirk suffered minor injuries and has since been returned to the jail.

Kirk, 37, is in jail on a first-degree robbery charge, the news release said.

Another inmate, Trevor Drake Phillips, was injured after falling in his cell, according to the news release.

Phillips, 22, was being treated at a hospital Thursday. He had been in jail on a charge of contempt of court.

The news release said the falls are under investigation and are not related.
