Lexington, Transylvania University police make arrest in robbery

Lexington police, working with Transylvania University Police, made an arrest Friday in a robbery on campus earlier this week.

Ray Ray Shawntay Sharp-Warren, 33, is charged with first-degree robbery, Lexington police said Friday.

Sharp-Warren was arrested came a day after police were called to help campus police investigate the robbery at the accounting office inside the Old Morrison Building on West Third Street.

Witnesses told police that someone entered the office, handed the clerk a note demanding money and implied a weapon. After getting the cash, the robber left the building on foot. Transylvania released surveillance footage shortly after Thursday's robbery.
