Boggs, Johnson win Buddy Tournament

The Lexington 600 Club held its annual Buddy Tournament at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland on Nov. 10.

The winners were Karen Boggs and Melanie Johnson with a 1,327. The score earned the duo $240 in prize money.

Second place went to Cindy Chancey and Becky Flora with a 1,308 worth $180.

Kathy Stephens and Jane Johnson were third with a 1,252 and $120.

The tournament, held each fall, features teams with a female member of the club and a partner who has never rolled a sanctioned 600 series.

■ The Kentucky State USBC Bowling Association held its annual meeting on Nov. 3rd in Owensboro. Four members were inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame.

In the performance category were Mickey Ganote of Louisville and Kent Burgan of Cynthiana. And Jim Day of Ashland and Garry Kron of Louisville were inducted for meritorious service.

The group elected Richard Saylor of Paducah as its president and chose Paducah as the site for the 2014 tournament in November 2014.

Longtime association manager Charles Steinmetz of Owensboro did not seek reelection. He has held the post since 1972.

Dennis Timberlake, the association manager for Greater Louisville, will take Steinmetz's place and Charles Tacket of Ashland was chosen to be the assistant association manager.

The new officers will assume their posts on Jan. 1.
