A man died Tuesday afternoon after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on U.S. 27 in Pulaski County, Somerset police Capt. Shannon Smith said.

Roger L. Woods, 63, of Science Hill was pronounced dead at the scene, Smith said.

Smith said police received a call about the wreck at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Woods was driving a white 4-door Hyundai behind a 1994 Ford tractor-trailer carrying logs. When the truck slowed down to get on the U.S. 27 on-ramp, Woods' vehicle kept going and ran into the back of the truck, Smith said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer, Jeffrey Stevens, 50, and his passenger, Shane Stevens, 23, were not injured.
