Kentucky State police have charged a juvenile with murder in connection with a fatal fire in Lincoln County.

The juvenile set the fire intentionally from inside the home, state police said. Trooper Rodney Wren and arson investigator Pat Alford determined the juvenile's role.

In addition to two counts of murder, the juvenile was charged early Thursday morning with one count of first-degree arson, state police said.

The fire on Joe McMullin Road near Eubank was reported to authorities just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Everett Garland, 64, and Linda Garland, 60, who were found inside the home, were pronounced dead, state police said.

A teenage granddaughter of the victims also lived in the house, according to Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum. Marcum said she escaped from the burning house and alerted authorities.
