Three Chimneys names new chief financial officer

November 25, 2013

Tom Klebeck has been named the new chief financial officer at Three Chimneys Farm, the Clay and Borges-Torrealba families announced Monday.

Klebeck replaces Mark Ackerman, who served in the role for 15 years.

Ackerman will assist in the transition until the end of the year, then will focus on college teaching and providing professional advisory services.

Klebeck brings 28 years of accounting, finance and operational experience to Three Chimneys. He has more than a decade of experience working for NYSE mid-cap companies as well as most recently serving as vice president of finance and administration for USC Consulting Group.

"Our search was extensive ... but in the end Tom brought the professionalism, mindset and proven ability to not only shepherd resources but apply a stern focus on control, profitability and value creation," said Three Chimneys President Case Clay.

Three Chimneys encompasses nearly 2,000 acres near Midway, stands 10 stallions, and has offices in France, Great Britain and Japan.

Klebeck said, "The more I studied the history of what Robert Clay has built at Three Chimneys and the more I learned of the strength, dedication and direction the Torrealba partnership brings, I knew helping Three Chimneys exceed their objectives was an undeniable opportunity."

The Borges Torrealba family of Brazil entered into a partnership last year with the Clay family to grow the farm's international presence.
