7 arrested in Laurel County on drug-related charges

The Laurel County Sheriff's Department has arrested seven people on a variety of drug-related charges in what deputies described as a "roundup" of suspected drug traffickers.

The seven suspects were arrested early Monday, following a three-month undercover investigation, Sheriff John Root's office said in a news release.

Charges in the case range from trafficking in methamphetamine to possession of opiates to receiving stolen property, according to the sheriff's department.

Arrested were Roger Vaughn, 55, of East Bernstadt; Curtis Vaughn, 57, of Pittsburg; Freddie C. Vaughan, 64, of East Bernstadt; Billy C. Hurley, 49, of East Bernstadt; Michael R. Wood, 36, of East Bernstadt; David Honeycutt, 53, of London; and Cindy Gibson, 39, of East Bernstadt.
