Kentucky's Macumber repeats as cross country All-American

November 26, 2013

University of Kentucky senior Cally Macumber was named a cross country All-American for the second consecutive season Tuesday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced.

The top 40 finishers in last Saturday's NCAA championship race were named All-Americans, and Macumber finished 13th.

Macumber, who is also a two-time All-American in indoor track and field, is one of eight Wildcats ever to be named a cross country All-American, and she is just the third UK runner to earn the honor twice.

Macumber was sixth in last year's NCAA championship meet.

Macumber, a senior in cross country, has exhausted her eligibility indoors and will be a senior for the outdoor track and field season.

■ Eastern Kentucky senior Soufiane Bouchikhi and Louisville junior Tyler Byrne earned men's All-America honors as the result of their 26th- and 29th-place finishes Saturday.
