Clark County: Bell ringers needed; free Thanksgiving dinner at First United Methodist Church

Bell ringers are needed through Christmas Eve for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive in Winchester. Individuals or groups should call Shannon Cox at (859) 744-3249 to volunteer.

Free Thanksgiving lunch Thursday

A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 204 South Main Street, Winchester. Dine at the church or call (859) 744-5410 for free delivery.

Museum holds Deck the Halls contest

The Bluegrass Heritage Museum, 217 South Main Street, is having its second annual Deck the Halls contest through Dec. 17. Guests can stop by the museum and vote with cash for a favorite tree or wreath. The museum is open noon-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Prizes of $100 for first place tree, $50 for first place wreath and $25 for runner up tree and wreath will be awarded at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19. For more info, call (859) 745-1358.

Living Christmas Tree performance

A presentation of the Living Christmas Tree will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 and at 4 and 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at Mt. Zion Christian Church in Winchester.
