Police were searching for two suspects after a shooting just after 6 p.m. Thursday that injured a husband and wife on Mirahill Drive, off Codell Drive, according to WKYT.

Lexington police told WKYT that friends of the victims arrived at the home, but two unknown people followed those friends and forced their way inside. There was an exchange of gunfire, police said. Authorities said the man who lives at the home was shot in the leg, and his wife was shot in the torso. Both were taken to the hospital; their conditions were not available.

Police said the couple’s juvenile daughter was also in the home at the time but was not injured. Officers said the suspects fled after the shooting, but they think one of them was also shot. They said they think that suspect later sought treatment at St. Joseph East Hospital but left before police arrived. Police alerted area hospitals.
