Habitat for Humanity's annual Bids 4 Builds online auction is entering its final days, and organizers are hoping for a big finish.

The goal for year's auction is to raise $15,000, said Dana Stefaniak, resource development director for Lexington Habitat For Humanity. Stefaniak said Thursday that bid traffic on the online auction site is running behind the level of previous years, and Habitat officials hope that things pick up before the auction wraps up at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Bids 4 Build allows anyone to bid online for unique holiday items, with proceeds benefitting Habitat For Humanity.

"There are well over 100 items in this year's auction, and they are really cool," Stefaniak said.

Among this year's more unusual offerings: handmade ice cream, created according to your flavor specifications, by Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream in Lexington. Other items include jewelry, restaurant gift cards and a Kentucky bourbon barrel suitable for suitable for use as a coffee table or to add ambience to your den.

"The bidding usually gets very hot that last day," Stefaniak said.
