Lexington police have arrested a 26-year-old man who is accused of stabbing and running over another man Sunday night.

Darius Brown was arrested Monday night after a voluntary interview with officers, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Brown is charged with assault and tampering with evidence.

The charges stem from an assault Sunday night outside an apartment on Winter Garden Drive.

A confrontation between two men turned violent, police said. Brown allegedly ran over the victim with a car, punched him in the face and stabbed him three times with a pocket knife.

The victim's name has not been released.
