Arrest in fatal stabbing in Laurel County

Police arrested a Harlan County man Friday afternoon on a charge of stabbing an acquaintance to death during an argument in Laurel County the day before.

Police arrested Hubert Dustin Lewis, 25, of Benham in the death of Clinton Ray Howard, 60, according to a news release from Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

The homicide occurred Thursday evening. Lewis and his girlfriend, Tiffany Jackson, 36, of Corbin, were reportedly at Howard's home in Lily when they got into a dispute, according to a news release.

Lewis allegedly stabbed Howard twice in the neck and then fled. Jackson called 911; Howard was dead when police arrived.

Lewis turned himself in to police in Harlan County before being taken to Laurel County and jailed there.
