Fire destroyed a skating rink in Hazard early Monday morning, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

The blaze broke out about 4:20 a.m. in the roller skating rink at the Fugate Entertainment Center off Ky. 15.

The Hazard Fire Department, along with at least three nearby volunteer fire departments, rushed to the scene. But the rink was "completely involved" by the time they arrived, Hazard Fire Chief Sam Stacy said.

"It looked like it had been going for a while before anyone noticed it," Stacy said Monday.

The building housing the skating rink was a total loss, Stacy said.

The building was empty at the time, he said.

In addition to the skating rink, the entertainment center included a movie theater and a bowling alley, all in separate buildings. There was no damage to either the theater or the bowling lanes, Stacy said.

The cause of the fire remained unknown Monday morning, and an investigation was continuing.
