Video: Opposing coach goes off after loss to Murray State

Herald-Leader Staff ReportDecember 18, 2013

A school from Kentucky made national headlines this morning, if only as backdrop to what might go down as a soundbite for the ages.

Southern Illinois men's basketball coach Barry Hinson let all his frustration loose after a 73-65 defeat at Murray State on Tuesday night.

Conducting his post-game news conference in front of a backdrop covered in Murray State logos, Hinson called his team a bunch of "mama's boys," said his players were "uncoachable" and noted that his wife could shoot better than some of his players, among many other one-liners.

WPSD TV in Paducah captured the entirety of Hinson's rant. Excerpts from Hinson's comments led ESPN's 9 a.m. "SportsCenter" show on Wednesday.
