Father arrested after son is found wandering with no shirt, shoes

December 19, 2013

A father was arrested Thursday after his young son was found wandering a neighborhood with no shirt or shoes, Georgetown police said.

Anthony R. McDowell, 26, of Georgetown was charged with wanton endangerment in addition to an outstanding warrant for drug trafficking, said Det. Lt. Don Mather.

The boy, who was between 4 and 6 years old, had gone to a neighbor's house looking for his parents, Mather said.

The boy "had no socks or shoes and no shirt, and of course, it's cold," Mather said.

McDowell was later located at his residence on Parkside Drive, Mather said.

McDowell was among 16 individuals charged Thursday in a drug round-up in Georgetown. He was lodged in the Scott County jail.
