A Lexington woman died Friday of injuries received in a car wreck this month, Kentucky State Police said.

Yarelis Figueredo Romero, 27, was driving her blue 2008 Scion on Crutcher Pike on Dec. 10 when she lost control and hit a tree as she was trying to round a curve, according to a news release. She was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

Romero was not wearing a seat belt, and speed was a factor, the state police said.
