Crash kills Liberty man

A car wreck in Liberty on Friday night killed on person and injured another, according to state police.

Clifton Hale, 53, of Liberty, was driving his 2011 Nissan south on U.S. 127 about 7:30 p.m. when the car dropped off the roadway, crossed a creek and hit a tree.

Jesse Monday, 83, of Liberty, a passenger in the Nissan, died in the crash. Hale was taken to Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
