Rowan woman hit by truck, critically injured

A Rowan County woman was in critical condition Sunday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington after being hit by a truck while walking on a road about 12 miles north of Morehead.

According to Kentucky State Police, Brenda Justice, 23, was walking south in the northbound lane of Ky. 377 about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when she was struck by a Chevrolet truck driven by Joshua Cooper, 26.

Alcohol was not considered a contributing factor. The accident remained under investigation.
