High school basketball highlights: St. X edges West Jessamine in Lake Cumberland Classic finals

Robert Shaw's layup with 2 seconds left gave St. Xavier, 15th in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, a 54-52 victory over No. 24 West Jessamine in the championship game of the Lake Cumberland Holiday Classic at Pulaski County. The Colts led 52-47 with 2:50 to go before Ashanti Burgess hit a three-pointer and Shaw scored a field goal to tie it up with 2 minutes remaining. Shaw led the Tigers with 22 points and Lucas Miller had 13. Daulton Peters scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Colts.

■ Jordan Green scored 21 points to go with four assists in Henry Clay's 82-58 victory over Augusta in the Republic Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic. Jeremiah Tisdale added 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and five steals for the Blue Devils. Brent Bach led the Panthers with 26 points and five rebounds.

Girls' highlight

Woodford County junior Chelsey Ford made the go-ahead free throw with 13 seconds left in double overtime to give her team a 77-76 win against Marion County in the Titan Holiday Classic at Mercer County. Ford finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds.
