The Wilmore Senior Community Center at Wesley Village will offer a new series of watercolor painting classes beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The two-hour classes will continue on Jan. 14, 21 and 28.

Although the fundamentals of painting and drawing will be emphasized, all experience levels are welcome. Instructor Jennifer Bacon says that students can expect individualized instruction.

YMCA offers mat Pilates sessions

The Jessamine YMCA, 220 East Maple Street, will offer a one-hour mat Pilates classes at 5:15 p.m. Tuesdays throughout January.

Mat Pilates is a series of exercises designed to improve body alignment, postural awareness, strength and flexibility, with emphasis on engaging the muscles that make up your core: hips, back and abdominals. The workout is appropriate for men, women and teens.

The drop-in style classes are $5 per session or free with a YMCA of Central Kentucky membership. Bring your own mat or borrow a mat from the Y. For more information, contact operations director Elissa Roycraft at (859) 885-5013 or eroycraft@ymcacky.org.
