Eagle Scouts: Jan. 1

December 31, 2013

Ryan Michael Booth

Ryan Michael Booth, 17, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank a Boy Scout can earn, on Aug. 25. He is a member of Troop No. 73, sponsored by Centenary United Methodist Church. He is a junior at Lafayette High School and is the son of Mike and Melanie Booth of Lexington.

For his Eagle service project, Booth led a neighborhood freshwater education project in conjunction with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Division of Water. The project included stenciling more than 400 storm drains and distributing educational flyers throughout the Chevy Chase neighborhood educating the neighborhood on how to keep its freshwater streams clean.
