Laurel County authorities arrest 2 for DUI in one van

Two people in one van were charged with driving under the influence while a passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant, according to the Laurel County Sheriff.

The trio were in a parking lot about 4 miles south of London off Ky. 229 around 7 p.m. Tuesday when officers found open alcoholic beverages in their van.

Franklin S. Early, 54, of London was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, driving on a suspended license and not having an insurance card. Taneha J. Whiteaker, 38, of London was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and driving on a suspended license. She was charged with disorderly conduct, allegedly for cursing at deputies during the investigation.

The passenger, Shelley D. Baiarrio, 33, of Corbin was arrested on four outstanding traffic charges. All three were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
