House burns in Lexington's East End; area's third fire in a week

A house in Lexington's East End was consumed in a fire early Wednesday.

Fire department Battalion Chief Joe Best said the house at 429 Conley Avenue was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived about 3 a.m.

It was the third house fire in the area in a week. The previous two fires have been classified as arsons. Best said the cause of the third fire had not been determined and that the investigation was continuing.
