Robert King, president of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, is one of three finalists for the presidency of the University of Wisconsin System.

The other finalists, announced Thursday by the UW System Board of Regents, are Raymond Cross, president of the University of Wisconsin Colleges and UW-Extension, and Peter Garland, executive vice chancellor and chief operating officer of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

A selection committee will interview the finalists next Monday, said Michael Falbo, president of the UW System Board of Regents. The decision will be announced next Thursday after a board meeting, Falbo said.

King has run the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education since 2009. The council oversees public universities in Kentucky and sets annual limits on tuition increases.
